In September 2001, The Yoga Deck hit the shelves. It was a different publishing world then: Every mall had a Borders, digital downloads weren’t a thing, social media wasn’t the way to hawk one’s product. Much has changed…but The Yoga Deck lives on! Did I ever think that two decades later, the deck would continue to sell? Nope. Am I grateful? OMG, beyond grateful!
And what a fun little deck it’s been! It showed up on an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond (the setting was a bookstore) and it was once included in the Academy Awards goodie bags. The Yoga Deck has been translated into French (Le Yoga Deck), Dutch (Yoga Kaarten) and German (Yoga Übungskarten). It’s been a wild ride, one I never could have imagined. While it wasn’t me on Raymond, or at the Oscars, or in France or Germany (ok, full disclosure: I’ve been to the Netherlands!), The Yoga Deck has done all of that.
